Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna Now Officially Back At Community

Deadline article confirming it’s a done deal:

After several weeks of negotiations, Community producer Sony Pictures TV just confirmed that there are deals in place for series creator/former showrunner Dan Harmon and former co-exec producer Chris McKenna to returning as executive producers for Season 5. The studio is not saying that the 13-season fifth season will be the cult comedy’s final installment, though that’s what I’ve been hearing. Harmon announced his return to the show via Twitter a week ago.
Andy Bobrow and Tim Saccardo are also coming back.

Newest Harmontown (Finally) Out

The newest episode of Harmontown has finally been released, and from what I hear it was worth the wait.

Mayor Harmon explains why an episode was lost; soon to be uncontextually quoted frivolity ensues. Jeff reveals he’s psychic; Kumail’s resultant bewilderment preempts D&D.

Chris McKenna Back As Co-Showrunner; Sony Wants Dan To Do Season Four Commentary

From The Hollywood Reporter:

Perhaps the most intriguing news:
“Sony said they’re very interested in recording me watching it as a commentary track” for the season four DVD set, he said. His co-host for the evening, Rob Schrab, asked if the DVD commentary could also include a visual in the corner of the screen with Harmon’s facial expressions as he watches the season he was notably aced out of.
Harmon finally got his fans wildly cheering by saying that he was “going back to run Community — along with, as my co-showrunner, the hands-down best writer of all the seasons, Chris McKenna.”
