Nice to see the ladies of Greendale front and center for an episode! I'm excited for this one...and as always, I love me some MJW.

Great episode. Nothing amazing, but it was fun to focus on Britta for the first time in a while, and the banter with Troy and Abed that came with that was perfect.

Down to a season low, but up against the NCAA tourney and DST, not a big deal.

And everything on NBC was down. Perfect Couples, Outsourced and Parks and Rec all roughly at or below Community.

Yeah, 'sfar as retention as a percent of the average, Community really showed its strength this week, against St Patty's, DST, and March Madness (all of which are popular with Community's 18-34).
Oh yeah, and I thought the episode was pretty good.

It was a great episode, but by Community standards it was only decent.

Community held strong I think despite that. What i've found is that Community doesn't really have that many casual viewers, but the majority of viewers are hardcore fans. That is what keeps it going ratings wise.

Talking on a different forum, I figured out why I didn't enjoy this as much (I've soured on it more since my post farther above). It's because the plots were so disjointed. One of the things I love about Community (and shows like it, see Cougar Town, Scrubs, Arrested Development, Party Down) is that even when there are multiple plots with each focusing on certain characters/relationships between characters, everything ties together. I'm not talking in a montage way, or in a end-of-episode "reunion" of sorts. I just mean that the plots should have bearing on each other. My example was Scrubs; even with a few separate plots, there are usually conversations and interactions all throughout the episode between characters in those plots. It allows everything to feel more interconnected and full of life. The way this episode was set up effectively suffocated each individual plot.

As long as Shirley and Theo Huxtable stay together, I'm happy.
